Peavey`s X model served as the basis for the Xi. The thin body contour and lightweight construction are also featured on the Xi. This guitar has one of the most distinctive and recognizable sound holes in the industry, it is an offset sound hole which follows the line of the upper bout. All of the other construction solutions of Composite Acoustics series apply on this model, too. The Xi starts off with the same shape and thin contour as the X model, and it is available in red color with gloss finish. The body measures around three inches of thickness, wit the overall weight of the guitar being around four pounds. Pickguards and top binding have been omitted from the specs list. The bridge is made of composite materials and features modern belly shape, black string pins and black saddle. In the electronics department, Peavey opted for the top notch pickup and preamp combo for the Xi. The neck on this model is apart of the one-piece body/neck construction and features no heel to support it. The fingerboard is made of composite materials and features 20 medium sized frets with offset dot position inlays. Bracing on this model is made with Integrated Bracing Technology and is one with the body.
