Pro Series Electric Guitar by 'Ovation'
1773AX-4 Classic is situated in the Pro Series and is one of Ovation`s new models for 2012. This guitar offers a slightly slimmer than standard classical neck contour, which makes it perfect for steel-string players who want to try on something new. This is a cutaway model with a mid-depth bowl which combines deep contour and super shallow construction elements. the back is rounded and provides a great projection of tone. Top on this Classic is made of solid cedar and features multiple layers of white and black binding along with natural satin finish. The bridge is made of ebony and shaped very similar to a regular classic guitar bridge. As for amplification, Ovation opted to go with OCP-1K under-saddle piezo pickup and OP Pro preamp. The preamp`s control panel is mounted on the side of the guitar and contains bass, mid and treble sliders, gain knob, pre-eq button and a chromatic tuner with LED display. The neck is made of five pieces of mahogany and maple with a dovetail joint at the 12th fret. But, the deep cutaway exposes the entire fingerboard which is made of ebony and equipped with a standard number of 19 frets.

I just purchased my 1773AX-4. This is a great guitar. The guitar has a classical guitar style neck with an Ovation twist. The neck is extremely easy to adjust (truss rod & shims). Within a matter of minutes you can easily set the action just the way you like it. The tone acoustically is excellent and even more impressive when you plug it in! This is a great guitar for the price and is very fun to play! Ovation did a great job bringing this classic back! Excellent tone plugged in and unplugged - Easy to adjust and play - Excellent value for the price - Great craftsmanship - Overall a great guitar!
