For the Summer NAMM 2013, Martin introduces the affordable and compact LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature model. With the price tag set at $599 and scale only 23" long, this model is one of the strong candidates for the "Hit of the Summer" guitar. X series puts together modern technologies with affordability and quality. Body of LX1E is a non-cutaway 0-sized and is made up of HPL (high pressure laminate) back and sides with solid sapele top. This makes it one of the most affordable solid top guitars on the market. Sapele top has no binding around the top and features a discreet single-circle rosette around the sound hole. One more high-tech feature is the laser-etched pattern over the top side of the sound board. Beneath the sound board, there`s the modified X bracing and Fishman`s Isys T system with tuner. Preamp with controls is installed on the side of the body. Bridge installed on the top is made of black richlite (ebony, which is the standard Martin material is omitted due to the price range of this guitar) and has black TUSQ saddle. Neck is made of brown stratabond and has modified low profile contour in the back. It is topped with a 20-fret fingerboard made of black richlite.
