JDP II comes from the Special Edition series in Martin Guitars catalog. JDP II is a dreadnought-shaped guitar with non-cutaway body. Construction-wise, this Martin features mortise & tenon joint with the neck and it`s fully acoustic. This means there are no pickups under the saddle, on the sound hole, no preamps or microphones installed. Body of this model is made of mahogany back and side panels with spruce sound board on top. Top panel is equipped with brown binding, teardrop-shaped tortoise shell pickguard and sun ray rosette. Neck on this model is made of hardwood and it sports Martin`s own low profile contour. It is one of several neck contours made by Martin, which have spread throughout the industry. This neck is topped with a 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. Bridge is also made of ebony.
