X series from Martin Guitars offers affordable acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars with wide range of specs, appointments and materials used throughout this vast series. DX1KAE is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with fully acoustic body and laminated wood construction. It`s body is made of laminated koa back and side panels and spruce-made sound board and bracing. Koa is an exclusive tone wood and it is used as a solid tone wood only on high-end guitars, while the spruce is the most common sound board for steel-stringed acoustics. Natural binding, tortoise shell pickguard and single circle rosette are accompanied by chrome hardware and glossy finish. Natural stratabond neck is equipped with oval contour and mortise & tenon joint. Belly contoured bridge and 20-fret fingerboard are made of black richlite, Martin`s substitute for rosewood and ebony.
