D-18 SS is a part of Martin`s Special Edition series which is comprised of either very luxurious, or unusual models for regular catalog section. It comes with a non-cutaway dreadnought body made of mahogany back and sides and spruce top. The top is finished in satin, bound in tortoise binding and equipped with a tear drop-shaped pickguard. In the bridge section Martin installs an ebony bridge with belly shape and bone saddle. D-18 SS is a fully acoustic guitar and it features no pickups or preamps. The neck is made of hardwood and it features one of Martin`s most popular neck shapes, the V contour. it is attached to the body with a mortise & tenon joint. The fingerboard is made of ebony and it comes with 20 frets covered with dot inlays.
