GM500CE is a grand concert guitar with acoustic-electric construction and a set of nylon strings. This model is situated within the Classical series of Ibanez catalog and is one of four instruments introduced into it at 2013 NAMM show. GM500CE is a full-sized guitar with single-cut body made of rosewood back and sides and cedar sound board on top. Cedar is traditionally number one tone wood used for nylon-stringers, but it`s been seriously challenged by spruce in recent years. Rosewood is also traditionally number one wood for classical guitar sides and back. Body of this model is finished in high gloss and available only in natural color. Bridge is made of rosewood and it features bone saddle. It is not a standard nylon-stringer bridge. Electronics include high quality Fishman Sonicore pickup and Ibanez AEQ210TF preamp. Neck is made of mahogany and it features standard contour in the back. It`s topped with a 19-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and 15-3/4" radius.

Very pleased: the guitar has a warm rich tone acoustically and projects very well. The finish, the woods, and the pearl inlays are beautiful. The "fusion" style ... the radiused and narrower fingerboard make the guitar a delight to play. Plug it in and the electronics will astound you ... a full brilliant voice with strong bass and rich highs ... a different personality and suitable for a great lead role. The price point makes the guitar a good value. This is a new guitar in the Ibanez lineup and one I suspect will be very popular.
