Koa, as a tone wood is one of the most exclusive and exotic options available. It is used for only the top models, as it`s price and very limited availability dictate the brand policies. SJ-200 Koa is one of few models with solid koa built onto it. This jumbo features back and side panels made of genuine koa and they are covered with spruce top. Natural colored body is finished in gloss. Multi-ply binding, vintage styled tortoise shell pickguard and double circle rosette complete the top. Bridge is done in mustache fashion and made of rosewood. In the electronics department Gibson pairs a piezo pickup with a preamp. Neck is made of mahogany and it comes with a dovetail joint. Rosewood fingerboard features 20 frets with crown inlays.
