FM-63SE is the second of two mandolins introduced by fender for the summer 2012. It comes with F-styled body with sunburst color scheme. This model is finished in high gloss lacquer. Hardware installed on this mandolin is plated in gold, which signifies FM-63 is set to be one of the upscale mandolins. Scale measures at 13.7 inches. Back and side panels on this model are made of solid maple, which is one more sign of Fender`s intentions to make this one a classy mandolin. Top panel is made of laminated flamed maple. Top is bound in four layers of binding and equipped with an elevated pickguard. Also, there are two "f" holes, one on the either side of the bridge. Bridge section is equipped with an adjustable rosewood bridge with compensated saddle. In the electronics area Fender installs under-saddle piezo pickup and it`s controlled through volume and tone knobs positioned on the top panel. Neck on this model is made of maple and it features a set-in joint. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it features 24 frets, white dot position markers and 1.12" wide synthetic bone nut. This Mandolin will be represented at the NAMM Show this summer.
