FM-101 Mandolin is a brand new model for the Summer 2012 and it is situated within the Folk series made by Fender Guitars. This A-styled mandolin comes with sunburst color with gloss finish. Other features on this model include chrome plated tuning machines, four layers of top binding and double course strings. Every one of four strings on this mandolin is doubled the same way as strings on a twelve-string acoustic guitar are doubled. Back and side panels on this mandolin are made of laminated nato wood and are covered with laminated spruce top panel. Top is equipped with an elevated black pickguard and a pair of "f" holes. In the bridge section Fender installs a rosewood bridge with compensated saddle. There are no electronics installed on FM-101, as Fender opted to make this one a fully acoustic model. Neck is made of nato wood and it features a set-in joint. Also, FM-101 has a standard neck contour in the back. It is topped with a fingerboard made of rosewood. Fingerboard features 21 frets, white dot position inlays and 1.12" wide synthetic bone nut. This mandolin will be featured on the Fender booth at the NAMM show this summer.
