Back in the 1960, Fender had the Concert Tone line of highly successful banjos. Over the time, the series was canceled and Fender`s banjos started appearing under the Folk Instruments series banner. But this year, Fender reboots the classic Concert tone line with a set of five models. 54, 55, 58, 59 and the Concert Tone Banjo Pack (value pack) comprise the initial lineup. Concert Tone 54 Banjo is the most affordable standard model of the series (excluding the Concert Tone Value Pack). It comes with a body made of solid mahogany sides and back with high quality hardware and plastics. Tone ring is made of rolled steel, while the bridge on the plastic Remo top is made of maple base with ebony tip. There are no pickups or preamps installed on this model (nor does any of the Concert Tone banjos feature any type or sort of electronics). Neck on the CT 54 is made of mahogany, and features the rounded V profile in the back (series standard feature). On its top, fender installs a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid inlays, banjo-sized frets and 1.18" wide synthetic bone nut. Set of five tuners (Fender) completes the list of core specs.
