Back in the day, when Mr Epaminondas Stathopoulo started the line of high quality acoustic guitars, instead of Masterbuilt, he dubbed it Masterbilt. The name stuck on and today in 2015 we have a brand new offspring of the series. Its name is Masterbilt AJ-45ME Acoustic/Electric. It is a round shoulder dreadnought guitar with non-cutaway design and classic Round Shoulder series construction. This is the only regular acoustic-electric guitar among five Spring 2015 updates Epiphone unveiled at NAMM. It comes with solid tonewoods, high quality electronics and superior construction. Back and sides of this model are made of mahogany and are covered by a solid Sitka spruce sound board. The body is offered only in Vintage Sunburst with satin finish, creme binding and a big tortoise pickguard. Rosewood bridge is, of course, fixed and fit with a bone saddle. Beneath the saddle, there is a NanoFlex low impedance pickup. Along with it, Epiphone installs a sound hole-mounted Shadow Sonic preamp. Neck is attached at the 14th fret through a dovetail joint and features a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. Fingerboard is marked with dot inlays and features the genuine bone nut. Grover tuners on the headstock complete the list of the main specs.
