55FCE Negra is a special version of the already well established and recognized middle-class 55FCE nylon-stringer. With the 55FCE models in Espana series, Cordoba has hit the bulls eye, managing to unite the affordable price with high-end tone and looks. Negra is a bit more loxurious variant. It comes with a full-sized classical body made of ziricote back and sides and European spruce sound board on the top. Ziricote provides a well defined low end, while offering an unmatched beauty. Tones of black, brown, gray, olive, gold and rust colors make ziricote-made guitars real head turners. Some experts place it in between Indian rosewood and Macassar ebony, where ziricote possesses more clarity than Indian rosewood and more overtones than ebony. Spruce sound board is bound in Indian Rosewood. Bridge on it`s top is also made of Indian rosewood. Fishman Matrix piezo is featured under the saddle, while the Prefix Problend preamp is mounted onto the side. Spanish cedro (cedar) neck is fit with a standard classical contour in the back and a 19-fret ebony fingerboard. This is a slight departure from the tradition, as most of the classical, as well as steel-stringed acoustics, tend to match the bridge and fingerboard materials. Cordoba`s own gold-plated tuners are installed on the headstock.
