Masterworks series is Alvarez`s line of intermediate and upper-intermediate acoustic guitars. It is only second to the hand-made Alvarez-Yairi line, made in Kani City, Japan. Masterworks models are all made with solid tops, high-quality hardware, and reliable hardware. The current roster features dreadnought, folk, and parlor models, with MD60BG being one of four available dreads. Main features include a non-cutaway body, 25-1/2" scale, vintage/modern styling, solid African mahogany back & sides, solid AA-grade Sitka spruce top, and the standard 14th fret neck joint. Alvarez sells MD60BG in Natural Gloss finish, with a tortoiseshell pickguard, herringbone binding, and nickel-plated hardware. Other important features include a one-piece mahogany neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard w/custom 12th fret inlay, fixed rosewood bridge, and open-gear tuners.
