The new 2018 Ibanez catalog features five new acoustic bass models, with none of them having the full 34" scale. AEB105E and AEWB32 rock the 32" scales, while the parlor-sized trio (AVNB1E, AVNB1FE, PNB14E) have scales shorter than 25". The idea behind the parlor-sized basses is to offer a more accessible option for players of smaller stature, as well as to help the players who play in cramped places. PNB14E comes in with the popular Open Pore Natural finish (w/chrome hardware, black plastics, white binding, etc). Main features include a non-cutaway parlor body (mahogany back/sides/top, single-circle rosette), a mahogany neck, an 18-fret fingerboard made of laurel (1.65" nut, 9.5" radius, dot inlays), a bridge also made of laurel, Ibanez electronics, and die-cast tuning machines.
