CB-100CE is an acoustic-electric bass from Fender and it starts off this summer. It comes with a standard dreadnought-shaped body with single cutaway design. This bass is a four stringer only. CB-100CE is available only in natural color and it is finished in satin. quality satin finish is far superior to gloss, for it allows the wood to breathe, while still protecting it from the elements. Hardware installed on this bass is plated in chrome. Back and side panels of the body are made of laminated mahogany and the top is made of spruce. This is the most common wood combination for acoustic steel-stringed models. Top panel is bound in multi-ply binding and equipped with a black plastic pickguard. Bridge on this bass is made of rosewood and it features a compensated saddle. In the electronics department Fender installs a combination of under-saddle piezo pickup and side-mounted preamp with tuner. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it is topped with a fingerboard made of rosewood. 22 frets, white dot position inlays, 12" radius and 2.125" wide synthetic bone nut complete the fingerboard. CB-100CE will be displayed at the Fender booth at the Summer NAMM Show 2012.
